Oh dear what a shock to hear of Don's passing. We knew him and his family with great affection years before i became his boss on the Bn MT.He was always respected for his experience and knowledge by all ranks higher and lower. When Madge arrived in Gibralta as a new wife to army ways Brenda took her under her wing and made her feel so welcome. We will always remember them both and hold fond memories.Rest easy Don now you are reunited with Brenda.
So sad. I have a great memory of Don picking me up at Darlington when I first joined the Battalion when they were in Catterick. Don was chatty and suggested we stop for a cup of tea on route, I thought "here we go, my first fleecing", but no, Don bought the tea and a bun for us. I did not get to meet his wife, but Don was a really solid steady guy. My condolences to his family and close friends.
Used to babysit for don and brenda in münster, lovely couple, sorry to hear of his passing.Reunited with brenda now.Sleep tight don,my condolence to your family!
Thank you very much for the kind words and memories. Dad was a true soldier and battled for his love of life. To see him and mum remembered like this 30 years after he finished his 22, is heartwarming and comforting. Thank you.
Thank you so much to all Dad's friends and fellow soldiers for their kind words and memories of our Dad. He was 2RGJ through and through and loved the Army and the mates he made during his 22 years. His 5 sons and daughter are left behind, but live with the knowledge and memory that our Mum & Dad were the best parents any kid could ask for. May they both rest in peace. Luv always, John, Vince, Chris, Brian, Anthony & Donna. XXXXXX
