George lived in the flat below me and died of lung cancer on 10 June. He did keep himself to himself but was a very complex man. He was obviously an excellent marksman and stalker. He could also repair television sets and had trained and worked as a coppersmith. Since his death I have been told that he had a book published, but I do not have anymore information on that. It was while I was searching on the internet that I came across your blog. I was not in the Servicesand I hope that you do not mind me commenting.

Can you confirm his surname, Danby or Danbury? He's not in the Assoc Database.

I don't know who posted the last entry because it was anonymous. The funeral was quite well attended but I did not know anybody there other than fellow neighbours Allan and Lawrence and so I left fairly promptly afterwards and went back to work.

That evening I met a friend at a pub in Faversham and coincidentally met another who had been at the funeral and who had known George. He was Harry West who also seems to know Danny Ainsworth and had also been in the Army. I am sure that he would have more information about George. Very strangely at the funeral no mention was made of the fact that George had been  in the Army.

I have still not been able to obtain any information about the book that George is said to have written. I can only assume that it was written under a different name.

Richard
