Rank: Rifleman

Served with the General Service Corps 14/2/44 - May 44

Served with the Rifle Brigade 18/5/44 - 29/12/44

In North West Europe 30/12/44 - 21/5/52

At Home 22/5/52 - 6/7/52

Additional information: at the time of his marriage to a German national on 3/10/48 he was in the No. 1 Wireless Regt, R.S. Gluckstadt BAOR, Germany.

My father had many entertaining stories of his time with the Rifle Brigade and was very proud of his involvement with the regiment.  He loved telling us his wartime stories.  His time serving in The Rifle Brigade was a very important part of his life, despite the sad nature of war itself, which is something he never spoke of.  We would like to include as much information as possible with regards to his wartime service in the eulogy at the funeral which we anticipate being in approx two weeks time.
