Lt Roger Alexander Carless - (524271)

 

Members of 3 RGJ especially Celle/ Falklands vintage will wish to be aware that the brother of Roger Carless (Runway Roger) has donated a very nice solid teak chair in Rogers memory to the Light Div Garden of Remembrance in Sir John Moore Barracks, Winchester.

The chair was installed at SJM Bks on Sat 17 Aug by a working party of the RGJ Regtl Assn Winchester Branch.

 

Commissioned: 13 Dec 1986 from RMAS (L.G. 10 Feb. 1987, 1776)

Lt 13 Dec 1988 (L.G. 13 Dec 1988, 13976)

Retired from the Active List: 13 Dec 1989 (L.G. 19 Dec 1989, 14618)

 

Died: 23rd December 2009 of heart failure aged 45 in London.

Top bloke and always up for a chuckle, good times in Celle and Falklands. RIP Mate and i'll rest my fat arse on your chair with my next visit, how is it i always get a bum deal when your around mate. Sleep well mate.

I was in the back of the '4 tonner' crossing the runway when the Hercules landed! Within minutes blue lights surrounded us!! One of the Fun times with Roger as our Boss! Was Sorry to hear of Roger's passing! My thoughts go out to his family.
