nono This is very very sad.  I served with Colin in 1980 in Brecon; Col John Poole-Warren was our OC and did we give him some nightmares Colin.  Colin was extremely highly thought of and well liked plus a superb soldier, a typical Royal Green Jacket with the humour second to none.

18 months ago, as we all do at times think about those Muckers we haven't been in touch with in a while and wondering how they are doing.  So I searched around the usual sites and found him, exchanged numbers and emails then I called him.  Oh how we laughed and arranged to meet at the July RGJ Reunion Winchester; it was fabulous to meet him again, instead of his blond curly locks, slightly distinguished but his infectious smile and laugh, still the same you just swept the years away.  Later in the day Colin brought his older brother Chris came along and that was just brilliant;  Chris was a Sjt in the 1st Bn RGJs in the 70s and we caught up and we spotted and pointed out different guys best part of the reunion both left that night full of enthusiasm about keeping in touch, thankfully we did.  Colin & Chris both very similar in character not a bad bone in their body's and excellent soldiers to boot; it was great to see Colin and Chris speaking with Roy Trower, etc catching up on the years.

Colin, bon voyage Chosen Man; it was my privilege to have known, served with you but more importantly laughed and had great times with you socially.  I know you will be well received in the FRV by many RGJ Chosen Men who have gone ahead.  I look forward to meeting up with you and them but if you don't mind Mucker, lets wait a long time please!

Sincere condolences Colin's family and friends; your loss will always be heavy but eventually it will get easier to handle, still keep speaking with him, he will answer but in different ways look for the signs.

God Bless you Colin.
