I should like to take this opportunity to thank all of you that have posted, and sent cards and expressed your condolences to both my daughter and  me on the passing of Ian.
I would also like to thank everyone who came to pay respects to Ian at his funeral, alot of you travelled a long way your kindness has meant a lot to  my daughter and me.

Ian's death was sudden and unexpected and very hard to bear but your messages and kindness have helped us tremendously. It is good to know that he was respected by so many, Ian had a huge family within the Regiment and  after leaving the Army carried on in typical Ian fashion helping people to which he became very involved in various community projects, these projects were represented by Ian's extended friends whom he held in regard as family.
It was good to be amongst you all at Ian's funeral.

Both my daughter and me would have liked to have said more in this posting with regard to Ian's funeral but we are lost for words; so simply we wish to say thank-you to you all.
