We regret to announce that Michael Abbot died on 7th April 2009. More details including those for his funeral will be posted when known.

Michael Abbott`s funeral service will take place at Porchester Crematorium on 24th April at 15.30hrs. Any members of the regimental family local to the area may attend.

mick was a good friend off ours will be sadly missed he never changes at the last reunion at davies st and the rgj reunion winchester it was if we where back at camp laughing and joking will miss you pal our condolences to frank ray and family

May I introduce myself, I am Mick's eldest son Michael.  It is my sad duty to have to inform you all that my farther past away peacefully at 14.20pm on Wednesday 8th April 2009.  My apologise for the lateness of this sad announcement but ive had so much to do and have only just found the right web site.

I would also like to thank all of you for your kind words.   He will indeed be sadly missed.

The funeral is to will be held at Portchester Crematorium on Friday 24th April at 15.30pm.  It would be an honour for any of his army brothers to attend.  I myself will be honoured to meet you.

Very sad to hear of Michael's death, I knew Mick from B Coy, Penang / Munster and the memory of Mick that will always stay with me is the fact no matter what the situation, Mick had a hugh smile on his face.  RIP Michael.

To all the guys that attended my Farthers Service on the 24th April 2009,

I would on behalf of the family like to express my sincere thanks to you all.  You made it a very special day and also how honouered we were to have had to there.  I have always know how Proud my Farther was to have had Friends such as yourselves and I know his memories of times gone by with you all will never be forgotten.  I would also like to thank Brain Jennings for the speach he gave at the reception it was a fitting tribute to a wonderful man, I know it was not and easy thing to do but Im so glad and honoured that he did.  I hope to see you all at the forthcoming reunions.
