or his son: JL Trustram Eve (Luke) at the same address above.
d.Roy Eve, a Wykehamist, was commissioned into the KRRC in the year of the late Kings death and never really passed out from the RMAS as the Sovereigns Parade was cancelled due to Court Mourning. Years later he organised a reunion at Sandhurst and arranged for his former fellow cadets to finally Pass of the Square. In 2 KRRC in Münster in the mid 1950s he was the Assistant Adjutant and kept the show on the road whilst the Adjutant was reconnoitring the flesh pots Amsterdam and Hamburg when not playing cricket for Leicestershire. Roy was Adjutant of The Kenya Regiment (1955-58) and had a lifelong connection with that regiment. On leaving the Regular Army in 1959 Roy joined the Queens Royal Rifles (QRR) later to be 4(V) RGJ and stayed with the TA till 1969 leaving as 2ic 5th (T) Bn RGJ. He was instrumental in setting up the RGJ Sky Diving Team and was the founding Chairman of the British Parachute Association. He was more than instrumental in persuading The Parachute Regiment to set up The Red Devils parachute display team. He subsequently worked for the drinks industry and did extensive charity work. Roy was a former chairman of the Peoples Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA). He assisted in the publication of a number of regimental publications.
e.Roy was part of a truly regimental family. Roys father, Brig RAT Eve, was in the KRRC. His mother was a very omnipotent member of The Ladies Guild. Roys brother, Alec, also served in the regiment. Both his son and uniquely his daughter-in-law held a commission in the RGJ with Luke serving in 2, 3 & 4(V) RGJ and Catharine in 4(V) RGJ. His cousin Peter Trustram Eve served in The Rifle Brigade and his nephew Nicholas in the RGJ.
f.Latterly Roy was a great supporter of The Rifles having very firmly booked his sa seat for The Rifles Regimental Dinner in July.
