I hadn't seen Pat since nineteen hundred and frozen to death, until the anniversary at Winchester in 2005 and I walked into the Wykeham Arms.  He didn't seem to have changed one iota, and he nearly fell off his stool.  Must have been the best part of 40 years.  RIP Pat.no

Sad to hear of the passing of Pat.  I learnt my trade from Pat on my first posting to 2 GJ in Colchester in 1964 but havent seen him for decades. My condolences to his family.

Would just like to remind everybody that my uncle, Pat, whom I am named after, served 2RGJ for around 25 years, becoming WO2. His brother, ginger also served the regiment for a number of years. Love, respect and peace Pat, you will never be forgotten

In remembrance of Pat Lowman

The Angels came today

The Angels came and carried him away.

No farewell words were spoken,

No time to say goodbye,

He had gone before we knew it-

We had no time to cry.

What will we do without him?

He will leave an empty void.

But he also left us memories,

A familys love, happiness and joy.

He can now hang up his rifle,

And learn to stand at ease.

For his army days are truly gone.

The bugle call, sounds upon the breeze.

For he had done his countrys duty,

And the writings on the wall.

He has been summoned up to heaven,

And he had to heed the call.

At night you may see him passing,

A moving star, up in the sky.

As he makes his way to heaven

And only God knows why.

Rest in peace old friend and comrade

I am sorry that this seems a bit late but I have been out of the country.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Pat, in a round about way we were related as Mick ( Ginger ) Lowman married my cousin so we were closer than we realised. Having said that I had not seen Pat for many years, but just a few weeks ago I was in Winchester and popped into his local hoping to find him there but no luck.

In 1967 when we were in Penang the night of the cup final when our beloved Spurs had beaten Chelsea Pat was knocking at mt door just after the final whistle inviting me out, remembering that this was 1oc in the morning at this stage. well did we paint the town blue and white and didnt get home until light o/c.

Rest in peace my old mate forever in my thoughts

So very sad to read about Pat's passing. He was a great teacher and mentor to me in the Munster days. RIP Pat.
