Death of John James Selby, formerly WO1 RB & 3GJ

I regret to announce that John Selby, formerly Rifle Brigade and 3GJ, died at Chelsea Hospital on 25th June. He had been a Chelsea Pensioner for a number of years

The funeral will take place at Chelsea Hospital on Thursday 15 July at 14:30.

Condolences to John's family, he was a lovely man and a good friend to my Dad. I wiil be attending his funeral, to pay my respects

I met John Selby when Bernie Hickmott was a Chelsea Pensioner a number of years ago, when on a trip to Weymouth with the London Taxi's 'Day Out for Veterans' and again when I went to The Royal Chelsea Pensioners Homes on Oaks Day.   He very kindly showed me around the place.

My sincere condolences to Johns family  -  a character he most certainly was.
