It is with sadness and regret that i inform you of the death of a Light Division Bugle Major . Former Light Infantry Bugle Major Max Bygraves Passed away yesterday.
Many people will remember him from Sir John Moore Barracks, especially the various Pass of Parades that took place.

I served with you for 20 years and always thought you were a terrific character. you were a great Bugle Major not only of the Light Infantry but also of the Light Division. This was apparent at your funeral yesterday when so many attended. I hope those who wear the green beret and silver bugle today will do so with the same pride and bearing that you did.

Max was the Bugle Platoon Sgt at Sir John Moore Barracks when I was in Bugle Platoon 1977 to 1979.

He was a great bloke, a good Sgt, a good Bugler but also a good friend to everyone that when through training in that platoon.

My heart felt condolences to his family.
