No one's death comes to pass without making some impression, and those close to the deceased inherit part of the liberated soul and become richer in their humanness.....RIP Dave.. My thoughts go out to his family, at this very sad time. Chris Newton ex 3 Rgj
My fellow PTI when we were at the Depot together, we were a right couple of Dennis the Menace in our red and black jumpers. I have many stories to tell about our time together I could fill a couple of pages.
Dave you were and still are my friend and will be fondly remembered by so many.
Jonno was a happy go lucky and an ecouraging P.T.I but he would also roll up laughing at you when you landed half way across the horse apparatus on your knees tryng to hold on before falling off sideways he had a good sense of humour he was a smashing person to know
So sad to hear about the Passing of Dave 'Jonno' Johnson. such a nice guy to have known. Our condolences to Doreen and Family. RIP Dave. Celer et Audax
So sad to hear about the Passing away Of Dave, My Condolences to his family,I remember meeting Dave when I joined the BN in Cyprus as a bit nervy but he put me at ease, that's the person he was always there with scouse humour thrown in, my one regret is that I never met up with him.. REST IN PEACE Dave.
Hi Pop, Just to let you know we will be meeting up after the funeral at the TA Centre from around 14:15 hrs next Monday.
We have managed to get hold of most of the Guys but with two exceptions. Funnily enough Mr Guest has left a message but nobody has a current number for him. The other one is Ginge Ewin so if you have numbers for these Guys I would like to call them.
I will be good to see anybody from the RGJ family who wishes to attend the wake.
We are collecting for Willen Hospice at the ceremony and any contriubutions welcome.

My sincerest condolences and deepest sympathy to Dave's family at this sad time. Johnno was a top guy with the typical scouse humour. I'll never forget his PT periods and quick witticisms. RIP Johnno. Another one gone to the great muster in the skies.
Another true Greenjacket has been taken from us too early, Rest in peace Dave, I know you fought hard as you always did, see you in the final rv and maybe you can catch me in the gym this time round . My deepest sympathy to your family at this sad time.
Just a quick note from me and the family in thanks for all that attended the funeral and wake for my Dad my last week.
It was amazing and very moving to see so many of the RGJ family appeared to show their respects. In addition we had many messages passed on for those that couldn't get away from work or other commitments.
There was effectively three generations of Riflemen who travelled far and wide, so whether in person or in spirit we know you were with us for the final RV. Dad would have been very moved to see you all there, I don't know if he would have said much, but you would have known....
Too many to name all and we would hate to miss anybody so all I will say is a big thank you from my Mum Doreen for your support in a very difficult time for her, special thanks to Paddy, Sue and Bill for the venue and for making the day easier.
