Peter Hill died peacefully on 29th October 2011 aged 87.

His funeral was on the 16th of November 2011.

A Thanksgiving Service will be held at Chelsea Old Church; 64 Cheyne Walk, London SW3 5LT at 2.30 p.m. on Thursday 15th December 2011. Peter Hill joined the KRRC in 1942 and was selected to be part of the General Headquarters Liaison Regiment ("Phantom") based in Richmond Hill. He was a member of the Celer et Audax and RGJ Officers Club. When he left the Army after the war he joined the family textile business (Sunspel Ltd) in London and then Nottingham, retiring in 2005. He was very knowledgeable on wildlife and enjoyed shooting, fishing and in his younger days tennis and skiing.

Peter Hill never married.
