Another 'Chosen Man' taken from our midst. The first time I met Mick was Penang '65, a young sprog I was. My first guard duty and this Giant with a big smile of reassurance greeted me. Mick you have been an inspiration to all. God Bless Sir and take it easy at the FRV. Condolences to your Wife and Family.

no What a shock to read of micks demise. He was one of my NCOs in the Assault Pioneer/ Engineer Platoon, in Berlin, Colchedter, British Guiana N-Ireland and BAOR. This 'Giant of a man' could swing the Hammer on the sports fiels and with 4 men dig a command post within 5 hours, as he did in Berlin, when we had a inter  platoon compertision. My Sincere Condolences to Micks Family, RIP mick, - High on the hill.

We have fond memories of Mick from Penang and Munster.  In Penang there was a nightly families volley ball game behind the married quarters in Camp. We can remember Dave & Madge Baird, Ron & Barbara Mason,Trev & Pat Chappell,Stan Bartlett,Terry & Ann Lloyd,Mick & Rita Harper,Jack Perry, Les Perry,Fred Robbins,Mick O'Hara and many others we cant remember. My wife recalled that one evening during a game she lost her wedding ring and Mick wasted no time getting a Metal/Mine detector and sweeping the court and surrounding area and soon reunited her with the missing ring.  Happy days - thanks Mick. RIP.

Sorry this is late,  But I had to write to say what a great man and then when I first met mick in Tidworth as my Pln Sgt.  A platoon that never went without, Mick could get anything that was needed or not.  If our QM would not give us Mick would nip into another camp and get it from their QM.  A big man with a big heart and was always warming to others.  See you at the FRV
