That's such sad news.  It was only a couple of days ago that I came across a photo of 6Pl in Kophinou on Christmas Day 1967, and there right at the front, sits Bomber , can of beer in hand.

Sincere condolences to his family.

Sorry to hear about Bomber's demise.  I knew him well at the Depot and where (at one time) he settled down in Brecon.

He was a real character and always managed to upset the Paras in Brecon with his facetious remarks about them.  They always took him as a fun character, which he was, but one time they kidnapped him and took him on a parachute jump with them and threatened to through him out of the areoplane over the sea without a parachute.  They never did, of course, but it still did not put Bomber off his comical remarks.  He was well 'laid back' and very well liked by everyone.

God bless you, Bomber; your soldering is done; rest in peace

Sad news about Bomber. Stories of Martin are many and always very, very funny. Another of those characters it would be hard to invent. Everyone new Bomber and he was a smashing bloke to be with.

I served in B Company with him and again on the Int in NI. Can't ever forget the story he told me about him in his car, which was automatic, and how he managed to knock it into gear whilst laying down and going through a small wall and off a ramp.

My thoughts are with Bomber's family.
