After retiring from the Army he initially worked for Roxtons in Hungerford and subsequently with Savills and later Strutt & Parker in Hants/Wilts.

Married: 14 March 1977 Jane (nee Lombard-Hobson), subsequently divorced

Children: 2 Daughters; Camilla (Williams (married Jamie, son of the late Col DAB Williams)) & Melissa (Trentham)
