Fergus Higgins died on the morning of 9 April 2013 aged 99.
He was commissioned on 1 February 1934 into the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry (43rd& 52nd) at the same time as JAJ Read (later Gen Sir Antony) [LG 2 Feb 1934]
Only son of Brigadier General CG Higgins, CMG, DSO, DL, also of the Regiment

Served as Coy Comd 2nd Nigeria Regt 1939-1942 including Abyssinia Campaign.
Funeral Arrangements for Lieutenant Colonel FHG Higgins, late The Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire Light Infantry (43rd& 52nd) and Royal Green Jackets.
A private creamation, family only, will be held on 23rd April.
A Memorial Service will take place at 12 noon on Friday 17th May at St John The Baptist Church, Kingston Lisle, OX12 9QH,to which his friends will be welcome.
Those attending are invited to a buffet lunch at The Old Stables which occasion would have been a celebration of his 99th birthday.
The family would like those intending to come to advise Annabel "as Fergus would be most unimpressed if supplies ran out" !
