I am trying to make contact with people that knew my dad while he was in the army. I've just been told to post something on this In memory page.

My dad Bob Hill died on 5th Feb 2011 after a 18month battle with Multiple Myeloma (Cancer)

He has left behind his wife Mira, 2 daughters, 2 son in laws and Grandaughter.

If you knew my dad please would you contacted me on lieslmarie@hotmail.co.uk

Many Thanks

Liesl Hogg

It is with a heavy heart having read your entry and noted/replied to your email address. I promise to bring this to the attention of a couple of people I am still in touch with. Bob was a very accomplished and unassuming man.
Following Minden it was good to meet Bob, Mira yourself and your sister in North Wales a quite few years after we had left.
Your father was liked and respected by many. Sincere and belated condolences.
RIP Bob

This is really sad, trained for Selection with Bob and a few others so knew him well, a very quiet guy and a good friend.

Bob and I passed out of the Peninsula Barracks Depot in 1980, and it seems like yesterday.

Bob was older and a lot wiser than most of us in the Training Platoon but he was a gentle man in the true sense of the word.

A quiet but physically strong man he wielded a sword sharp wit which never failed to crack me up even after we joined 2 RGJ in Minden, Germany.

His early death has stolen a good man who believed in fairness and equality but enriched the lives of us who Bob touched.

Thank you for everything Bob, .......  throw your head back and laugh ....... you were right, I'll admit it now and you can say that " I TOLD YOU SO " .......

as I have to wear reading glasses and my eyesight is pretty poor !!!!!!

Mira and family, sorry for your loss, please remember the good times.

What a lovely guy, he was always very helpful and he had such a good sense of humour and was full of integrity and honesty in bucketfulls.  Bob it was a priviledge to know you, have fun in the FRV 'till we meet again.

Sincere condolences to his family but try to take comfort and rest assured you had a gentleman amongst you that was of the highest calibre human beings around.
