Simmo was a player.

We served together in Belfast in 1972 and for several tours after that.

We wore civvies, had long hair, (much to the annoyance of the Sheriff and RSM) - went out to discos and got pissed with special branch .. sometimes we did some work.

Simmo was always reliable , and very steady in awkward positions, of which there were a few.

I never saw him flap.

Later we were in Londonderry, and would meet in Limavady for a beer and to chew the fat.

An honour to have known you Simmo, and lucky to have shared some of your time.
