It is with great sadness I have to announce the death of my very good friend Pat Swift.
Pat past away yesterday morning 31st October 2013.
His funeral arrangements are now being planned and details will be posted ASAP. The only detail that can be given at this time is it will be in Pat's home ground of Manchester.
Pat, so many laughs, so many scrapes, some people fall in **** and end up smelling of roses, but Pat would fall in roses and end up smelling of ..... Well smelling of Swifty!
Nothing was ever his fault but that just made it more funny - will be missed by many and remembered by even more
Only remade contact with Pat last year and as with all greenjacket friendships even thou there had been a 20+ year gap we picked it up as if it was yesterday. Pat you were a top mate , top man and true jacket. My thoughts are with your family R.I.P. Bro Swift n Bold
Sad day, tragic accident!!!. Pat will be missed by a great many people who had the privilege to know him and inadvertently been part of his antics and humour, Lovely bloke, always smiling. I will always have endearing lasting comical memories of Pat ranting and raving when the sh** hit the fan on so so so many occasions, and as Rossy has already stated, "it was never Pats fault". He had the best set of velcro tapes in the battalion!!! Take care mate and god bless you.
It has now been confirmed by the Hospital Report. Pat's sudden departure was a tragic accident. A cigarette not completely extinguished fell on to the settee whilst Pat slept. Pat passed away in his sleep peacefully from smoke inhalation. RIP Pat. Truly missed. Never to be forgotten.
