In remembrance of C/Sgt Ken Ambrose MID, who died a year ago 9/1/13.
The founder of the original RGJRA website, who worked tirelessly improving contact for ex and serving GreenJackets, and is most probably the main reason why so many of us have found mates and comrades, who would have just been memories.
A great and dedicated man, who is sorely missed by many, our thoughts go to his wife, Penny, and family on this day of remembrance.
A few years ago Ken and I were discussing the topic of poems to put on the site, this one he liked, and I would like to dedicate it to him.
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep,
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the mornings hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight,
I concur with the thoughts of the DWM and also hope he is looking down content with how we have carried on his work, if not I am in a lot of trouble and can expect a 252 at the FRV !!
A great poem to a great bloke who is missed by us all, thank you also for all your continued efforts on the site, i'm sure The Great Obi Kenobi will be looking down from the FRV with that huge smile of his and beaming RGJ Pride.
A giant of a man with a heart the same size and was there for every 'Jacket', God Bless Ken, i bet you're laughing at some of the muddles we're all getting in to down here.
with effort I hold back the tears mucker, they seem to come more frequently as I get older! But it's the pride I feel having known and served with a giant of a gentleman. Ken though you have been summoned to the FRP you will surely be looking out for each and every chosen man.God bless mucker,RIP.
