Very sad to hear of the passing of Lou. I got to know him in 'A' Company and played rugby with him in Dover. He always seemed to be laughing and joking or had a smile on his face. He was a tough and tenacious soldier and a much valued and loyal member of the 1st Battalion. He was one of those unforgetable characters and was all the more memorable for his slightly French accent. Yet another Chosen Man who will be greatly missed by his ex comrades, particularly as we approach Rememberance Sunday. My thoughts are with his family and if it is OK with them, I will try to attend the Service on Wednesday.

I was so sad to hear of the passing of Lou. He was a character of 1 RGJ. I recall he always had that infectious smile on his face when you saw him.
My prayers and thoughts are with the family and of course he will be in my thoughts today in Liverpool at my private memorium service and in all our prayers and thoughts tonight in Oxford and Sunday at all the Services wherever fellow riflemen are gathered.
Unfortunatley I can not be with the Family and friends on Wednesday at the celebration of Louis's life but I will raise a glass in his honour.
Good night God bless.
Ginger

Louis was a real gent. I may not have thought him the best friend when he was an instructor on my NCO's cadre in 76, but his knowledge has been past on to many a fellow rifleman.

God best and RIP

Best regards
Jake

Thank you all for your kind words.
It is very much appreciated to realise how many people he affected and made happy in his life.

Just to clarify the church is St. Thomas Moores, which is on Stoney Lane in Weeke.

It will be good to see all those who can make it.

Thank you
Chris
