MY WIFE AND I LAST MET "DAB" WILLIAMS AT THE 'FREEDOM-of-the-CITY' PARADE IN WINCHESTER LAST YEAR. ALTHOUGH IN A MOTORISED WHEELCHAIR HE WAS UPBEAT, POSITIVE AND A PLEASURE TO TALK TO. IN SHORT, HE WAS THE SAME OLD "DAB" - NO SILLY OLD ILLNESS WAS GOING TO GET HIM DOWN. HE WAS, AND IS, AN INSPIRATION TO ALL WHO THINK THAT THEY HAVE BEEN HARD DONE BY AND ARE LOOKING FOR A GUIDING LIGHT THROUGH TROUBLED TIMES.
HE WILL BE MISSED BY EVERY RIFLEMAN WHOSE LIFE HE HAS TOUCHED.

It is with deep regret and sadness I have just read about DAB's passing, he was a true gentleman and a good officer and a true rifleman. My condolences to all his family RIP.
DAB Williams was signals officer when I first joind 3GJ, and was warm and welcoming. He helped me to fit in with a new life, and I respected, admired and liked him tremendously. I saw him when he was guest speaker at a Felixstowe ladies night, and despite his illness he still was the dashing, handsome and charismatic officer that I remembered. He will be deeply missed, and it is a sad loss to te Regimental Family.
Col. DAB's passing is a great sadness, I was a new face when I knew him, he was an old hand and very welcoming, I could not have done better by choice. My condolances to his family
