It is with the deepest regret that Tony Folwer and I have to announce the death of W.O.2 Oliver Brown, formally of the 3rd Battalion RGJ.
Ollie died at 6.50 hrs this morning after a long arduous battle against Prostrate Cancer. He died at his home in Colchester, peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his family.
Details of the funeral will be posted on the bulletin board on the "In Memoriam" site as soon as they are known.
Our thoughts and deepest sympathy go out to his wife Sandy and all of his immediate family.
He was a friend for 35 years, and he will be sadly missed by us all.
The family have relayed Oliver's wishes were for family flowers only and donations in leiu of flowers should go to the hospice. We will arrange for donation boxes at the church and at the wake should anyone wish to contribute.
I would be grateful to all if they could contact either Tony Fowler or myself on the following no.s

Ollie was a true mate, like everyone else we had our ups and downs, but we always sorted it out, he will be sorely missed, but thankfully now he is free from the terrible pain that racked his body, that he had bravely fought over these last few months.
Ollie was fanatically proud of our Regiment and the guys he served with, likewise I am equally proud to have served with him and have had him as a mate.
Stag on Ollie, in that LUP in the sky where we will all one day meet again.
I was fortunate enough to be in Ollie's section in the Milan Pl in Celle. I bumped into him last year as he was a manager at sainsburys in Ipswich. RIP Ollie

I should like to say, that after spending many hours over the last few days at my good friend Olivers bedside that he died with great dignity. He fought a long battle with cancer and only succumbed in these last few weeks. He will be greatly missed by many of us and although saying this with a heavy heart I think he would rather we reflected on the good times that were shared by us all.
Oliver, now resting in the arms of your creator, I send you my prayers and with it the hope of all Green Jackets that peace finally awaits you
I am very saddened to hear of the sad pasiing of Ollie. RIP Ollie and when you get to that Big Parade Ground I hope you meet up with your Young One and all the Fellow RFN. Although it is 37 years that I first met you in Tidworth how can one ever forget that big Smile you always had.
I HOPE THE FAMILY AND HIS FRIEND'S WILL ACCEPT THIS TRIBUTE TO OLLIE, EVEN THOUGH I DID NOT KNOW HIM, THIS IS TO ME WHAT FRIENDSHIP IS ALL ABOUT.. R.I.P. OLLIE.
A FOREVER FRIEND
Sometimes in life, you find a special friend; Someone who changes your life just by being part of it. Someone who makes you laugh until you can't stop; Someone who makes you believe that there really is good in the world. Someone who convinces you that there really is an unlocked door just waiting for you to open it. This is Forever Friendship. When you're down, and the world seems dark and empty, Your forever friend lifts you up in spirit, and makes that dark and empty world suddenly bright and full. Your forever friend gets you through the hard times, the sad times, and the confused times. If you turn and walk away, your forever friend follows. If you lose your way, your forever friend guides you and cheers you on. Your forever friend holds your hand and tells you that everything is going to be okay. And if you find such a friend, you feel happy and complete, because you need not worry, You have a forever friend for life, and forever has no end.
I was very saddened to hear of Ollie's passing. I had known Ollie when he was with the 1st. How can we understand the meaning of loss unless we have felt it ourselves. Ollie you were a true "Rifleman" a true Green Jacket. I will always remember your beeming smile and laugh. Although you are gone my brother in arms you are not forgotten, I am proud to have known you and served with you.
To your family I send my deepest condolences, may you be strong and remember the good times. As has been said Ollie, you no longer suffer the pains of mortality.
God bless your soul on your journey to peace.
