Ollie was a true mate,like everyone else we had our ups and downs,but  we always sorted it out, he will be sorely missed, but thankfully now he is free from the terrible pain that racked his body,that he had bravely fought over these last few months.

Ollie was fanatically proud of our Regiment and the guys he served with, likewise I am equally proud to have served with him and have had him as a mate.

Stag on Ollie, in that LUP in the sky where we will all one day meet again.

I should like to say, that after spending many hours over the last few days at my good friend Olivers bedside that he died with great dignity. He fought a long battle with cancer and only succumbed in these last few weeks. He will be greatly missed by many of us and although saying this with a heavy heart I think he would rather we reflected on the good times that were shared by us all.

Oliver, now resting in the arms of your creator, I send you my prayers and with it the hope of all Green Jackets that peace finally awaits you

God Bless

Tony

I HOPE THE FAMILY  AND HIS FRIEND'S WILL ACCEPT THIS TRIBUTE TO OLLIE, EVEN THOUGH I DID  NOT KNOW HIM, THIS IS TO ME WHAT FRIENDSHIP IS ALL ABOUT..
R.I.P. OLLIE.
A FOREVER FRIEND

Sometimes in life, you find a special friend;
Someone who changes your life just by being part of it.
Someone who makes you laugh until you can't stop;
Someone who makes you believe that there really is
good in the world.
Someone who convinces you that there really is an
unlocked door just waiting for you to open it.
This is Forever Friendship.
When you're down, and the world seems dark and empty,
Your forever friend lifts you up in spirit,
and makes that dark and empty world suddenly bright and full.
Your forever friend gets you through the hard times, the sad times,
and the confused times.
If you turn and walk away, your forever friend follows.
If you lose your way, your forever friend guides you and
cheers you on.
Your forever friend holds your hand and tells you that
everything is going to be okay.
And if you find such a friend, you feel happy and complete,
because you need not worry,
You have a forever friend for life, and forever has no end.

I was very saddened to hear of Ollie's passing. I had known Ollie when he was with the 1st. How can we understand the meaning of loss unless we have felt it ourselves. Ollie you were a true "Rifleman" a true Green Jacket. I will always remember your beeming smile and laugh. Although you are gone my brother in arms you are not forgotten, I am proud to have known you and served with you.

To your family I send my deepest condolences, may you be strong and remember the good times.
As has been said Ollie, you no longer suffer the pains of mortality.

God bless your soul on your journey to peace.

"Swift and Bold goes he before me and prepares my arrival at his side".

A friend!

I have just heard about Ollie's passing, My sincere condolences to his family. Ollie was one of the Milan platoon 3RGJ's nicest characters, I shall remember him fondly and pass on this sad news to those here in Australia that served with the man with the unmistakeable beret.

RIP Ollie, you have obviously touched many lives and will join those ranks of the men we will never forget. Say hello to Choggie when you meet.
