Thank you all for your kind messages of condolence for Colin's family, they have gained comfort in knowing just how much Colin was loved, respected and held in such high regard by all those who were privileged to know him. I know everybody is anxious to know when his funeral service will be held so as to ensure they will be able to attend. At the moment it is looking unlikely that this will happen before the week commencing 26th November. As soon as the arrangements are confirmed we will post the details on this site. Our thoughts and love remain with both Colette & the children and Colin's family x

Dear all,
Please find below details of the Funeral, Colin wanted people in colourful clothes, but I understand at this time of year black/grey is unavoidable, so you may decide on a coloured shirt/tie or coloured accessory, just go with what you feel, as he wanted a celebration of his life.
I will also be allocating a time slot during the service for any friends who feel they would like to say something about Col, this service is a personal one so you may want to add something during this time, if so please let me know so I can decide how much time will be needed. I am seeing the Humanist who will be taking the service so I must know details of this by tomorrow at 1pm at the latest.
Also I will need 4 or 6 bearers to take Colin from the hearse into the crematorium, again if you feel you would like to do this please get back to me.
Naturally I want this to be 100% perfect for Colin, as he always put others before himself, so Col deserves this time for him.
Colin will be viewable from Monday morning til Tuesday evening at Ian Hazels should you wish to have quiet time with him, it is entirely up to you if you feel able to do this.
For the funeral you may have the choice to either meet at our house or go straight to the crematorium. We would like Flowers only as there will be no donations these should be left or delivered to,
Ian Hazel Funerals 5, Belwell lane Four Oaks Sutton Coldfield B74 4AA 0121 3082288
Meet at 12.45pm on 28th November 2007
97, Worcester lane Sutton Coldfield West Mids B75 5NJ
Or go straight to the Crematorium for the 1.30pm Service to finish at 3.00pm

Another sad day for the Royal Green Jacket family as another Brother is called to his final muster. I did not know Colin but as Green Jackets we are all one family unit. My thoughts are with his family and friends at this very sad time. RIP mate.
I have got to say what a top bloke he was and an excellent soldier. The first person I met in 2 platoon when I got to Kosovoin 1999 . He helped me out and taught me loads. We had loads of good nights out in Germany with the famous 2 platoon. We also served in the jungle in Jamaica in the same platoon. An excellent bloke, will never forget. My deepest sympathies go out to all his family R.I.P Col, until we meet again.

Firstly I want to thank Clive and all of Cols friends for all of your support during this sad time. I cannot put into words the sorrow, loss and heartbreak myself and our 3 children all feel right now.
I know that Col would be honered that Clive has offered to help and give support, and I feel humble that Colin was thought of in such high regard. He worked very hard to give us a happy, stable life, he is the most selfless man I have ever met, always putting others first before himself.
He died making a difference to the lives of others.
I feel happy knowing that myself and Col were very much in love, and he always knew that I had to shout how much I loved him from the roof tops, and how so very proud of him I and the children were.
It still doesn't seem true that he has gone, but we were happy to have spoken to him on the phone and as always he sent me a morning text saying how much he couldn't wait to be in my arms again.
I hope that you can all gain strength from Col and know that he loved all those who meant alot to him.
Sleep soundly my baby, I will always be on your shoulder.
Love you dearly Colette, Daniel, Natasha and Caitlin xox
