I dont know how many people have heard but Steve Dixon has been tragically killed while working in Iraq.Paul Dixon (little dicko) told me the other day after I texted him to take the piss out of Sunderland for getting snotted by Everton 7-1. Everton motto is nil satis nisi optimum (only the best is good enough), Only the best IS good enough for the Royal Green Jacket Battalion in the sky, I hope I'm in Steve's section when it's my time.
Sadly steve dixon pased away on saturday much to the loss of his family and many friends, his brother Paul would like to thank all of you who have been in touch from himself and the whole of steve's family. as soon as the funeral details have been released they will be announced.
this is unreal i cant believe so many green jackets[and rifles] have been tragically lost over the past couple of weeks/months ,ive recently been in touch with dicko [paul] because he wanted to be at copeys funeral ,paul has emailed me to tell me about his own loss and also to tell me he will still be there for colin [cope] this is an incredibly brave and selfless act typical of both steve and paul . im deeply saddened by all of this and my condolences an sympathies go out to paul and his family swift and bold steve ,rest easy mate.
This is unreal, so many good blokes lost in a short space of time. My thoughts go out to Dicko's family at this time he was a great bloke who I had many a good time with in A coy and R coy.
So sorry to hear such sad news so soon after we lost my brother Colin Cope. May I wish Steves family sincere condolences from Colins parents, sisters and brother.
I have to say I am absoloutly gutted by the tragic death of my brother - Stephen. He was larger than life and loved his job to the full. He loved his time in 2RGJ, where he met so many great people. He was a true professional and warrior and will be greatly missed. I would just like to pass on my thanks for all the messages and support I have recieved, this is echoed by my family. Also thanks to Dee Thomas for her message and I will be there for Col on Wednesday. I will provide funeral details when I have more information. Just got to say, love you loads Stephen and will meet you again - R.I.P Paul
Really sorry to hear this sad news. Steve was a cracking bloke, a top squad and a good friend, a true chosen man. He will be sorely missed by all that were fortunate enough to have known him.
Paul my thoughts are with you, Sara and the kids, and all your family.
Dicko, we'll meet again mate, and if I remember correctly it's your round!!!
