Thank you very much for that. Ratty has his address and will write to him asap. Hope to see you soon and my fond regards to JP.
Keith K,
Ratty tells me that he took up your offer of the flag which is much appreciated and thank you. Don....sorry if I started flap stations over the flag but that was my original brief in the early confusion. My apologies to both you and Keith.
Chosen Men,
I can, at this stage, confirm that the dress will be regimental ties. Of whatever regiment adopted you. Or whatever regiment you adopted. Your choice.
All other detail will be posted next week.
Sid Bunn is still the point of contact at RHQ. I will be helping where I can here in Kent. I am I/C Bearer Party and will be conducting a briefing on the day for those of you who volunteer.
Kenny Ambrose/ Webspinners please let me know if it is OK to promulgate any further detail on the other boards as I myself don't check the 'In Memorium' board as often as I check the others - as I am worried that I will lose the will to live.
I am happy to send anything on to yourselves direct if you wish.
Finally...... I would add that I met Mick's sons David and Richard today and they, despite their grief, are strong and positive. They are keen to ensure that some of Mick's pals from the Greenjackets get together and not only mourn his passing - but celebrate his life in the service of his country - for which he was awarded a DCM and BEM.
I WOULD TO SEND MY CONDOLENCES TO MICK'S FAMILY, WHEN I JOINED UP AT BUSHFIELD CAMP ( JR COMPANY), HE MADE US NEW GUY'S FEEL AT HOME. THAT'S THE WAY I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HIM FOR. GOOD NIGHT AND GOD BLESS MICK ( R.I.P)
I HOPE THAT THESE SIMPLE WORD'S WILL SHOW THAT MICK WILL BE REMEMBERED FOR EVER. ( R.I.P.)
No person is ever truly alone. Those who live no more, Whom we loved, Echo still within our thoughts, Our words, our hearts. And what they did And who they were Becomes a part of all that we are, Forever.
My condolences to micks family at this sad time.I first met mick when i joined the battalion in shoeburyness in 1972.Although that was over 30 years ago,He left a lasting impression on me as a very fair and decent man.May he rest in peace.Gary.
