It is with great regret and sorrow that I have to announce the death of Ian Rosser. Ian died suddenly whilst at work on Wednesday 28th May. His wife Julie-Anne and his daughter Fiona-Ann were with him when he died.

The funeral will be at 1430hrs on Friday 27th June 2008 at St Mary's Church, Dover Castle, followed by a Cremation Ceremony for family and close friends

Ian was my battle partner in Winchester Depot .

He was also a friend in those times at the Depot when you think about "what am I doing here " or getting into some bother.

Ian always said the thing that made sense in that outrageous Brummie Accent that he never lost .

I've still got fond memories of a good man and a fine Greenjacket.

We both went or separate ways and all too briefly got in touch over the years.

Ian, thank you for your friendship and your helping hand.
You never expected anything in return but would help anyone out.

Good man, good friend.

Kind Thoughts to Julie-Ann and Fiona-Ann at this sad time.

Charlie Chensee.

My sincere condolences go out to the family on Ian's sudden departure.

I am going to miss standing with him outside fiona's school, talking about the old days and questioning "why we ever left the jackets! and where our next job was going to be and for how long?".

He was one of the nicest, sincerest and honest blokes anyone could know and will be missed by all who knew him.

I only knew Ian for a very short time compared to some of you, but what I can tell you about Ian is that he was truly a wonderful man in every way.

As a fellow brummy it was always so nice to be greeted with a cheery smile, and an accent that very few southerners can get to grips with.
His sense of humour, and compassion for others was second to none, and I shall miss him dreadfully, but his legacy will live on in his beautiful daughter Fiona-Ann.

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to both Julie-ann and Fiona-ann at this sad time, and to let you both know I am here if ever you need me.

Rest in Peace Ian.

Love always Mandie, jas, Jordan & Jorja xxxx

Just to express my sorrow at hearing about the death of Ian.  I remember Ian and Julie-Ann from 2 RGJ days in Connaught Barracks (which also finds an untimely death for itself) when Ian worked with my late husband Colin Manning and Julie-Ann was a member of the Wives Club.  We often met in the early days in Dover but I remember Julie-Ann ringing me to say they were moving.  I have been trying to locate her with the tel.no. I was given but with no luck.  My thoughts go out to Julie-Ann and Fiona-Ann (who was just a baby when I last met her!) but also many happy memories come to me of our 2RGJ days.

What a total shock, to hear about Ian. What a person Ian was, a person that would do anything for anyone, he always had a smile on his face no matter what.

He will be sadly missed, He will now muster with all the other chosen men that have fallen.
My condolences go out to your family, RIP Ian and keep that smile on your face.
