Capt John Barroll died on 28 March 2009 aged 84.

a.    Service of Thanksgiving on Wed 8 Apr 2009 at 3pm at St Andrews Church, Sonning-on-Thames, Nr Reading RG4 6UR. Please be advised that parking is difficult at the church.

d.    John Barroll was commissioned into the 60th Rifles and like several Green Jacket contemporaries was posted to the 52nd (Airborne) Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire Light Infantry in April 1945 to replace the losses sustained in the airborne operation East of the Rhine. He remained with the regiment for the rest of World War II and until the end of the regiments part in the Palestine emergency in 1946/7. He was a member of the Oxford Club.
