Both Deb and I do remember Tony. He was a genuine man with a keen sence of humour. Also living as neighbours in Gibraltar Sq with 3/2 RGJ. We live in France now but we did on, rememberance day lay a poppie for the lads who are no longer with us and Tony was, and still is remembered.
Dear Alex, Birgit and I have fond memories of your Tony. Still, so very sad that he left us so tragically and that you had hardly anytime to enjoy his retirement together. Tony was my Company Sergeant Major and his loyalty and dedication and the love he had for his family, Birgit and I will never forget. Hope you are well. Saw you on FB. You are all looking well! Fondest love.
I last saw you in Alanbrooke NAAFI just b4 you left the Battalion an we had a cofee 2geva, we will have another 1 when we Re-org in the the sky m8. You are sadly missed by all that knew you, friends & family alike.
Tony was one of the Best and I remember his send off very well. The ammount of people past and present near and very far that attended to give Tony a great send off. That day showed what a popular guy Tony was. Will always be remembered.
what a reat guy, i knew tony when we were in JR platoon at winchester then in the 3rd btn..managed to visit tony in hospital before he died to say my goodbye..RIP mate
I first met Tony when he was provo sgt he had to come and get me out of dover nick we were new to the battalion so we were scared of what might happen to us.Then the cell door opened and there was Tony big grin on his face then spoke in his soft brum acent alright boys. From that day on I became good friends with Tony. He will be missed by all a true rifleman.
Time really does fly but the memory of Tony lives on. Tony and I had a good time baiting the Arfurs when we went on a recce to Paderborn together before the battalion moved out to Gemany! Hope you are well Alex, Love
Tony to me was a big man, in size and in heart. A true friend. There are people in life who make a true impression and Tony for me is someone I will always be proud to know. What a wizzard on the fruit machine too.
