You was our pub landlord, Eddie, great bloke, sorry to hear the sad news. Such a cruel disease that seems to take away the best people in life.

So sad to see this, great bloke, eddie was my training corporal winter 76/77 along with pop sturman/chippy carpenter and sgt smudge smith,we were so lucky to have been taught by 4 very humble but very professional guys, they didnt give us a minutes rest, they turned us into good respectful lads never mind riflemen, none more so than eddie,he was always on the nail with the banter,so many moments in basic training to remember with eddie involved from day one telling jokes to the final section attack in the snow in brecon still laughing with us,top bloke.RIP Corporal Eddie Chavner...........Ray Handley  76/79
