Kenny was a true 1st Bn character. The words Kenny, and , Signals Pln, seemed to always be said in the same breath. Ken never lacked effort when humping those awful A41's. Great Signaller. Ken was never happier than when playing football. I have memories of him as a mad, mad goalkeeper. Always up for getting stuck in and making the opposition know he was there. Gone, but never forgotten. RIP mate.
Sad to hear of Ken's passing. We were signallers together in Penang. Great, if not eccentric goalkeeper. He will always be remembered. Sincere condolences to family and friends. RIP.
Ken, was a Signal Platoon Cpl when I did my first signals course and was then posted into the Platoon in 1968, He along with Spud Taylor, Allan Grant , Paul Jolife, Pete Uden, and other NCOs took us new signallers and taught us our trade, I will always be greatfull for the Knowledge he passed on ,which I hope I put to good use overv many years, As others have said Ken was always up for playing sport on a Wednesday afternoon.
RIP Ken untill we all RV with ex members of 92A, don't wind up Pete Uden to much!
RIP Ken - my sincere and deepest sympathy to family and friends. See you at the 'final' parade Sticky. Very good memories of you as a Rifleman and a civvy in Portsmouth. God bless you mucker!
I didn't know Ken that well, but I do remember his flamboyant displays as goalkeeper in Hong Kong. Rest in peace Ken, and my sincere condolences to your close friends and family.
Yesterday was Kenny's funeral. I recieved a message from Martin John Rogers that he attended and was the sole representative of the Regiment. The occasion was further saddened by the fact that Kenny's wife is very ill in hospital and she was unable to attend her husbands cremation. A sad day indeed for Ken's family. RIP mate.
