After a long illness Joe O'Hanlon passed away on March 9th 2011.

The call that no-one wanted to hear - came.

I met Joe when i joined the regiment and we served together in Malaya.

After leaving the regiment in 1968, it was some forty years before our paths crossed again but in true Green Jacket style it was as if it was yesterday.

Ken Potter, Ted Devlin and I along with our wives became as close as friend could be.

Joe was good at magic and sent my Grandson some tricks. They used to talk on the phone and as Edward is only nine Joe promised to come over one day and put on a magic show. Sadly that day never came.

Now he is refered to as magic Joe.

Joe will be missed by young and old alike but never forgotten.

Swift and Bold
