Served with Paddy in 1st Bn B Company in Malaya, Borneo and Berlin, and knew him up till he left us on 3RGJ re-formation, in early 1972. Unbelievable that so much character could be packed into so small a body! Paddy was a tough, tenacious soldier and always funny. A sad loss to our Greenjacket family.

A nicer man you couldn't find, never once heard him cross or moaning.

(What a good job you kept your middle name under wraps Paddy, you know we would have made hay with it).

Sank many beers with you, your company was only ever, totally brilliant.

Rest in Peace Mucker, you certainly will be missed, but will also certainly stay in our memories.

God Bless

How sad.  Paddy once told me that to get a pair of socks would cost me a pint and for a bottle of brandy I could get my own APC!  I bought him the pint and enquired about my new socks - Paddy smiled at me and said "nip to that mob in the next barracks and bribe them - you were getting your socks anyway, but cheers".  Typical of his humour and style.  Fond memories of another character.
