So sorry to hear the very sad news, Paddy was an endless source of humour in those days in Celle, a cracking lad. Rest in Peace my friend, may I express my sincere condolences to his family and friends.
Served with Paddy in 1st Bn B Company in Malaya, Borneo and Berlin, and knew him up till he left us on 3RGJ re-formation, in early 1972. Unbelievable that so much character could be packed into so small a body! Paddy was a tough, tenacious soldier and always funny. A sad loss to our Greenjacket family.
Very saddened to hear of this loss of another of those great characters Paddy you will certainly will be missed and you was one of those who had that typical paddy sence of humour. RIP Paddy and my sincere condolences to your Family. God Bless
My sincerest condolances to Paddy's family on their loss. Paddy was a great asset to the QM's store and will be sadly missed by all those who knew him. RIP Paddy (if only we knew your middle name all those years ago)
Very sad to hear of Johns passing. I knew John in Celle and supped quite a few beers with him, he was a great guy and will be missed by all who knew him. RIP John.
How sad. Paddy once told me that to get a pair of socks would cost me a pint and for a bottle of brandy I could get my own APC! I bought him the pint and enquired about my new socks - Paddy smiled at me and said "nip to that mob in the next barracks and bribe them - you were getting your socks anyway, but cheers". Typical of his humour and style. Fond memories of another character.
Many happy memories of Paddy whilst in the QM's in Celle (and our short journey to the Cpls Mess down the corridor...). Condolences to Linda and the family. RIP.
