I only knew Del  for a short time as he was the flag bearer at my dads funeral.  I met him on a couple of outtings and was such a funny guy. He was also a gentlemen.  I know he will be missed by all, I certainly will.   With our sincere condolences to all of his family Michael (Mike Abbott's son) and Lucy Hunt.

so very sorry to hear about Del's passing.

I have a photo of us together in full "Greens" which is framed and  i see every day from when he acted as guard commander  for the Convent in Gibraltar.

I have such great memories of that time and i remember Del as a great personality and a good soldier.

I am sure i can speak for all us who knew him and say we never said a bad word against him and thats unusual for a Sergeant.

There could'nt be a better man on the pearly gates now.

Del,

was the 11 platoon training Sgt  in Winchester back in 1966.  I remember him as a very good mentor for all of us new Green Jackets and was usually in good form despite the fact that he had bouts of kidney/urinary tract stones which were very painful for him.

Stand easy my old freind, love and condolenses to Terresa and the family. we go back along way and as froggy put it we had a good laugh wether it was freezing our bits off in a sanger in Belfast in 1974 trying to get your video gear to work properly or water polo in Gibraltar.
