I only knew Del for a short time as he was the flag bearer at my dads funeral. I met him on a couple of outtings and was such a funny guy. He was also a gentlemen. I know he will be missed by all, I certainly will. With our sincere condolences to all of his family Michael (Mike Abbott's son) and Lucy Hunt.
was the 11 platoon training Sgt in Winchester back in 1966. I remember him as a very good mentor for all of us new Green Jackets and was usually in good form despite the fact that he had bouts of kidney/urinary tract stones which were very painful for him.
So sorry to hear of Dels passing. He was a good freind to mum & dad (Sgt Marchant & Edna) I knew him mostly in Penang and his lovelly wife. My thoughts are with you all.Pat.
So very sorry to see that Del has passed away. He was a real gentleman and I remember him as a very kindly Sgt when I joined the Bn My thoughts are with the family of Del...I am sure he is at the FRV along with all those other great characters from the Regiment.
Stand easy my old freind, love and condolenses to Terresa and the family. we go back along way and as froggy put it we had a good laugh wether it was freezing our bits off in a sanger in Belfast in 1974 trying to get your video gear to work properly or water polo in Gibraltar.
