Rod was one of lifes gentlemen...I never heard him raise his voice or put anybody down. My thoughts are with his family at this time. A great loss to all who knew him.

RE: Death of Sgt Rod Babins 2RGJ 1967-1993 and Funeral Arrangments
What a terrible shock to read the passing of Rod, so very sad. I know we say that about all our Muckers who go the FRV but Rod was just a seriously nice guy. Cor blimey he is going to be a big loss to his family but also to the Regimental Family Ranks. I came from the 1st Bn in '82 and Rod said straight away welcome we are all 'Green Jackets' here, have a beer. Although we were never close Muckers but he is remembered by me as a truly thoroughly decent and nice guy. God Bless Rod, pass on my best wishes to all in the FRV. Sincere condolences to his wife and family.
I am so saddened to hear of the passing of Rod. Rod and I where in Junior Soldiers together in the early sixties. Many a good time during hose days. I went to 1 RGJH and Rd to 2 RGJ. We saw each other on numerous times since then.
A very lovely man, my condolences to all his friends and family. Unfortunatly I am unable to attend the funeral but I guarantee I will raise a glass of port to you at the aprpriate time MUCKER.
Shocked and saddened to hear this. I was with Rod in the QMs in Dover - a great guy and friend. My deepest sympathy to Chris and family at this sad time.
Very late in my condonlensis but knew Rod and count myself one of the lucky ones, a proper Rifleman who we all knew and loved. Godbless Rod and see you in the RGJ FRV we will all be there.
