I am so sad to have learnt of Jim's death, but having been to the funeral today, it is easier to accept. Jim was missing on the Saturday morning from the cafe, but at the time Joe and I didn't think anything of it, as there were always the odd days when one or two of us wouldn't show up. On the Friday, he was the same old Jim, nothing untoward, so it was a shock to hear from Jenny on Saturday afternoon that Jim had passed away in his sleep. Since then we have been told he would not have been in any pain, which is just as Jim would have expected. God bless you Jim, you were one of a kind. Jenny, Tom and Patsy (form Portsmouth), and all of Jim's family, please accept the condolences from Pom and I.
Have just read this and what memories of a good man and his family it brings back. It was Jim who persuaded Jock (George) Hodgson to join 3RGJ whilst living in Tidworth. Condolences to Tom and Jenny.
So sorry to hear this very sad news. I only spoke to you from Trinidad a year before you passed....................many a good time was spoken.
Ive just been reminissing with Anita (my daughter) about all the good times we had and she reminded me of the times you were Father Christmas at the kids Christmas Party..................
Terrible shame, you will be sadly missed but never forgotten.
