Major E H Nankivell

 

Major Edwin Hardy Nankivell, late of the 52nd ,passed away at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Harlow on 2nd October 2011 aged 93 years.

A Service of Thanksgiving will be held on Monday 17th October 2011 at St John's Church, Stansted at 2.30 p.m.

Service Record:

Wartime service in 2nd Bn OBLI (52nd)

OC 19 Pl C Coy 2nd Bn OBLI (52nd), 6th Airlanding Bde, 6th Airborne Div.

 

Col John Tillett (Adjt 2nd Bn OBLI at Pegasus Bridge) advises that Hardy Nankivell did gallant service in the Bn and served in C Coy from Pegasus Bridge, through the Ardennes and into Germany eventually commanding C Coy. Mentioned in Despatches (LG: 4.4.1946).

Retired from the Army after the war and joined the family paper firm The British Patent Perforated Paper Company also known as Bronco Ltd!!
