Major E H Nankivell

Major Edwin Hardy Nankivell, late of the 52^nd ,passed away at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Harlow on 2nd October 2011 aged 93 years.

A Service of Thanksgiving will be held on Monday 17th October 2011 at St John's Church, Stansted at 2.30 p.m.

OC 19 Pl C Coy 2^nd Bn OBLI (52^nd), 6^th Airlanding Bde, 6^th Airborne Div.

Col John Tillett (Adjt 2^nd Bn OBLI at Pegasus Bridge) advises that Hardy Nankivell did gallant service in the Bn and served in C Coy from Pegasus Bridge, through the Ardennes and into Germany eventually commanding C Coy. Mentioned in Despatches (LG: 4.4.1946).

Retired from the Army after the war and joined the family paper firm The British Patent Perforated Paper Company also known as Bronco Ltd!!
