Gordon Brown MM late 2KRRC 1940/46 died on 25 November.
Gordon featured in a story by Brigadier Sir John Hunt CBE DSO of Everest fame in the 1996 KRRC Journal in the article The Bravest Man I Ever Knew
He maintained contact with Tom Braden and Ted Elsworth two of the American Officers who served in the KRRC during WW2, Braden later became the Director General of the CIA and Elsworth a US Senator. Gordons funeral will be held at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, Narberth, Pembrokeshire SA67 8UD at 12-15 on Saturday, December 10. Any Riflemen who live in the area would be most welcome at the funeral.
I attended the service in commeration of Gordons life as I live bearby it was a very moving and family orientated service given in the most by his son George quite apt for a man of Gordons outstanding abilities & achievements, there were two buglers from 1 Rifles great to hear the bugles again, and a great tribute to one so bold.....Swift & Bold an honour to have been allowed to pay my respects.
