I served with Ian in B Coy, Penang / Borneo / Munster. Ian was a true gentle giant, a good Rifleman and a good friend. In recent years he joined the Marching Boys with trips to Belgium and Bavaria where we renewed old friendships over more than a few beers. Ian will be missed by all old Greenjobs who knew him, he is at is at at peace but will always be in our memories. Another good man gone but we'll have a few beers in his honour at the next Reunion.
Ian was a great Rifleman and a good friend . I first met him in Penang and was glad to have him as part of the platoon . Rest well Ian . My thoughts are with you and your family .
I went to see Ian with his best mate Hughie Vernon in Hengelo Holland a couple of weeks before he died. As you would expect from Ian if you knew him he faced his last battle with extreme courage
