I attended the Minster church Warminster yesterday with my wife Blanche, it was a privilege to be in the congregation we have attended the Minster many times, but have never seen it full before, it was for Francis, from the eulogy given by his son John, neck ties were Francis's thing I'm sure he would have been pleased to see the vast amount of Ox & Bucks, RGJ, and many other Regimental ties in church, also it came out that the Mr A t t w a t e r that us young Rfn from the mid 1960s knew, carried on being the same for the rest of his life, as I sat in my pew, I could see him riding his push bike through Montgomery Barracks, Berlin, with books under his left arm, as we stood and saluted, he of course returned our salute, both hands now off his bike, as they say the rest is history.... I now think the joke was on us he was just playing the game.

Francis, it has been a privilege to have been a small part in your life.

Rest in peace.
