Very sad news I was David's platoon sgt when he came over to 1 RGJ in osnabruck, a great boss and remember the time he bought a rifle green Morgan And took all the platoon for rides on the autobhans. With us a short time in the jackets but fondly remembered RIP SIr (boss)

Dave, came to us at B-Coy 1RGJ and within just a few weeks we all knew he was the best Plt Commander we had ever had. In January 90 he led us through a demanding Platoon Competition held internally within 1 RGJ. He inspired and led 6pl to victory. On its conclusion I remember him saying to 6platoon, " It has been an honour to take part in this challenge with one of the very best platoons in the British Army" sadly battalion HQ denied him the prize and awarded it to the 2nd place platoon, no reason given but we all know its because he was at that stage still badged as a tankie.

Top squaddie, top Rifleman and top human. Lokk forward to meeting him again in Valhalla.
