I am so sorry to hear of Mick's passing I first met Mick when I joined the Regiment in Cyprus in 63 he was a true gentleman through and through and a stonewall Green Jacket, unfortunetely I am not in the country onthe 22nd to attend his funeral rest in peace my friend god bless.
Met Mick when I joined the RB band in October 1962 in Cyprus. He was a very honest and principled man with a terrific sense of humour.Absolutely ruthless on the Hockey pitch as ,I am sure, many in the RB's can testify. He was the Band detachment leader during the Far East tour of 1965,not a easy job considering the circumstances but he had the experience to draw on.He later went on to manage the Sgt's Mess towards the end of our Celle posting of 1970 having felt that his time in the Band had come to an end.Mick, your tone on a Alto Sax was one of the best.Rest in Peace my old friend.God Bless.
