Sorry to hear of the death of Brian, so many have said so much about him it is difficult to come up with anything to say, however as we were next door neighbours in Great Wakering I have a little gem. As most of you will know Brian was an avid fisherman and on many occasions I would hear through the walls Brians wife shouting from the top of her voice " Brian get these F------- maggots out of my fridge". What a man who else would even attempt to do that.
I was the lucky lad that drove brian on ex eternal triangle and can still feel the lumps on my head from that no.7 mike. Stopping at a place called cloppenburg for time out during the exercise a few beers prevailed followed by brian trying to smash the **** out of our poor old APC with a sledge hammer, how will i forget him.Rest now old chap, condolences to your family.
Funeral Arrangements. Brian's Funeral service will be held this Friday the 26th July at 15:00hrs at the Seven Hills Crematorium, Felixstowe Road, Nacton, Suffolk IP10 0DQ.
The Family have asked for those wanting to make a donation to make these out to the "RNLI"
No further details as yet.
I'll try and get details of where to send them or you can send directly to me and I'll pass on.
I first came across Brian in Cyprus 6 platoon B company, it transpired that we only lived a few miles away from each other. He was a great character larger-than-life, we had a few adventures together!!
I hadn't seen Brian much in the last few years, my fault not his as he was in a bad way with one thing and another.
God bless you mate no doubt will meet up in a bar somewhere.
