Hello, for those of you who knew him sadly, my brother Nick Hennessy who served in 3rd Battalion Royal Green Jackets between 1975 and 1979 passed away on Monday 2nd September 2013. He trained in Winchester and served in Berlin in 1976/77 and then lived in Uckfield Sussex with me and doing a couple of tours of Northern Ireland. He was shot in Northern Ireland and then sadly pensioned out due to his injuries.

He has been unwell for a year or so and it turned out he had cancer. He fought this as the great soldier he was, but it was a battle too much in the end.

Funeral arrangements are at South Essex Crematorium, Ockendon Rd, Upminster Essex RM14 2UY on Monday 16th September at 3.15pm - everyone is welcome.T

Nick was a great Green Jack and mento. He will be dearly missed. Winchester brings back many memories for those of us who went through there before being deployed onto other things which are never mentioned. "Black and Green, Finest Colours Ever Seen". As we said back in the day; "Green Jackets Don't Die, We Just Reorganise In Heaven". "Swift and Bold".
