Bob Pickford (This notice has just been received from Cyprus)
It is with deep regret that we inform you that, following a prolonged illness, Lieutenant Colonel Anthony (Bob) Pickford passed away peacefully in his sleep in Cyprus on 24 Sept 2013 where he was surrounded by his family.
Bob and Angie settled in Cyprus last year upon Bobs retirement and final Army assignment on the island. He was an outstanding Quartermaster and talented Staff Officer who reached the peak as a Late Entry Officer.
Amongst many outstanding achievements during his long career in both the The Light Infantry and The Rifles, Bob made a major contribution to the establishment of The Rifles when he ran the Regiments recruiting operation from Warminster in 2008/09.
Any kind words, condolences etc may be addressed direct to his wife Angie at:angelapickford@hotmail.com or by letter to:

Our sincere condolences to Angie and the girls. I still smile when I think back to Bob's first day with 1RGJ, on his commission as the MTO, although that smile has faded somewhat tonight. Angie our thoughts are with you and your girls. Doc and Lynne Savage

Anyone wishing to express their thoughts to Angie and Family should write to:
How sad. Bob was the MTO when I was the QM of 1RGJ. We served together in Bulford, Kenya and Bosnia. He proved that there was no barrier between RGJ and LI. We had a great working and social relationship. He called me "Dad" and I in turn called him "Pickers". In Bosnia we were members of the very elite "LEO Club" ( Bob Wright will know all about this!!!) A very sad loss. Sylvia and my thoughts are with Angela and family.
