and in the old photos they are still there, fooling around in the barracks and laughing around a NAAFI table, bearing out the words we see on every memorial - "they did not grow old as we have grown old..."
Hi ginger it was a sad day when we lost Charlie and Fred, i remember it as if it was only yesterday, the sad thing about that 48 years ago was we were about to leave for Penage, minden barracks and we were all looking to go home in the new year. i was sleeping in the basher nexst to the cookhouse you was on the left of me when you said look for the flash of the rocket launcher,of course that was not the case, i was one of the last draft to join 11 plt c company R R, with chalky white,well ging just a short note to say i will always remember what happend to sgt Walker???.
