I would like to sadly announce the death of my father who joined the Royal green jackets on 3/3/49 at Bushfield camp Winchester for his national service.

He was always intensely proud of serving with the regiment and would always regale us with tales of training runs up the hill near the winchester bypass (as was).

He passed away Yesterday (1/7/2009) aged 78 after a brief but painful battle with throat cancer.

My condolences for your loss. Your Fathers service to his country is greatly appreciated by us all.
Gone but not forgotten. Once a Rifleman always a Rifleman.
